How did Peyton Manning get injured? Exclusive story inside!

Peyton Manning is injured, we all know it, but HOW did he get injured? It is a great question that I've yet to hear answered, until now. From myself.

Manning, in his 208 consecutive starts, has been sacked 231 times. An average of 1.11 per game. The MOST he has ever sacked in a season was 29 back in 2001. His sack numbers have been in the teens or lower (10 in 2009) eight of the past nine seasons. He doesn't get sacked and he doesn't get hit that much, mostly because defensive players know if Manning is touched, a flag will be thrown (right, Eagle fans?)

The answer to the great Peyton Manning injury is...

You know what, here is some Peyton Manning praise.

Sure, Peyton Manning has been in two Super Bowls and wasn't the greatest in, well, either. He even lost on of them thanks to an interception. Yeah, he has lost in the playoffs more time than he has won and has seven games where he didn't even win a single game. Yes, it is also true that his quarterback rating is just 88.4 in the postseason, but that doesn't mean he is the worst big-game quarterback of all time. Not at all!

For all of the abundant amounts of choking Manning does in the playoffs, here is some praise for Mr. Manning. Truth be told, he is not the biggest choke artist in the history of the game and I want to take a moment and give respects to the biggest choke artist in history of the NFL (quarterback-wise, that is...at the very least).

Did You Know? Brotherly Love Edition

In his one and only Super Bowl appearance, Eli Manning has as many touchdowns as Peyton Manning has in two.

The team Eli saw, of course, was the New England Patriots. A team that beat Peyton Manning and the Colts 24-20 in a game Peyton where went 16 of 27 for 225 yards with one TD and one INT. He also had one a one-yard TD run. That is an 83.102 quarterback rating.

Hey, cool! Manning took less money so his team could sign/keep players!

Actually, no, he didn't.

Peyton Manning's "people" came out Friday and said Manning was willing to take less money than the Colts offered to him in an act of Godly selflessness to help his team go out and get players or so the Colts could keep their own free agents. Excellent news for the pink jersey Manning fans!

Choke Game Snapshot: Saints @ Manning February 7th, 2010

We all know this one, don't we? Peyton Manning going for his second Super Bowl after one of his best post-season runs of his career. In the two games leading up to the Super Bowl, Manning had five TDs and just one interception with wins against the Ravens and the Jets.

Then Manning, yet again, couldn't get it done in the biggest stage of them all: the Super Bowl. And this time, his defense wasn't able to bail him out. Manning had to truly earn this one.

Did You Know? Manning's Supporting Cast Edition

ANOTHER reason as to why Peyton Manning doesn't have more rings is because his supporting cast is trash. He has to do it alllllllllllll by himself.

When you hear a reason lousy excuse as to why Manning doesn't have more rings is because his defense has been crap.

Choke Game Snapshot: Manning @ Chargers January 3rd, 2009.

In yet ANOTHER one-and-done game in Peyton's career, the Clots lost to the Chargers 17-23.

From the naked eye, Manning had a good game. Going 25 for 42 for 310 is not bad. Not bad at all. You'd expect more than just one touchdown when you are throwing to Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, and Marvin Harrison, but whatever. We're going to look the crucial part of the game where the choke was on in full force this day (again): the second half. Even Mr. Henry Heimlich would have had a hard time stopping this choke job.

Choke Game Snapshot: Manning @ Jets January 4th, 2003.

One of SEVEN one-and-done playoff appearances for Peyton Manning. How did Mr. FourFivehead do?
Not so hot. A common theme for Manning when you mention the "P-word."

In his third playoff appearance, Peyton went just 14 for 31 with zero touchdowns and two interceptions. The game actually featured a young quarterback in his first playoff game. Chad Pennington went 19 for 25 for 222 years and three touchdowns leading his team to a 41-0 victory over the Clots.

Apart from the 13 play drive in the first quarter that ended up win a missed field goal, Manning managed to lead his team to four three-and-out possessions. The longest four drives Manning led his team to on this day were 49 yards (missed FG), 34 yards (INT), 29(INT), and 13 (punt). The rest of his drives were under 10 yards.
